Guys, I heard all about the old dude fighting! I tried to warm the old guys that it was only a matter of time till a young kid smacked the living daylights out of one of them. Well it happened.
Now I will not endorse violence, but as a last resort that then is different. What that means to you old guys is that those kids that were once 8 or 9 are now 17-19 so watch it.
Anyway I diverge from the subject matter. One of the most trouble bringing and trouble seeking surfers I have ever met, I think may have to re-think his attitude in the water. ( it's ok it happens to all the wannabe bad Johns just admit your wrong and get on with life and surf a little nicer in future).
Everyone remebers one bad John picking on a younger fitter fellow and how the older guy had to spend a few minutes on the sea floor to reflect on his actions and calm down. Eye's jumping out of the sockets and lungs burning for some O2. Well, we have another victim. So I have mentioned that this older individual is not the nicest surfer in the world infact seeing this guy in the water can make you want to find another break just so that you will not have to get involved in anything stupid. I heard that after unfairing some kids and just generally being a jerk in the water. Our older gent not only had to take back some of the verbal that he so frequently gives out when he is out classed by the youth but also having resorted to the last weapon a bully has, the physical, then got the surprise of his life when this kid stepped to the plate and asked to see the minerals. The bully as you well know has nothing much to offer when challenged and as you can well imagine got to learn what being bullied feels like. I then heard that the shame of all this made our bully leave the beach forgetting his board and was told by the kids that if our bully ever see's them out surfing he should find someplace else to surf himself.
The fun a games of surfing, sorry the gossip nothing funny about fighting in the water. My point, bullying is unexceptable in any way shape or form and violence too. But by the same token I understand that one must fight fire with fire and in the hostile environment of the line project strength or be walked all over. Kids, good job for standing up for yourselves and over coming a bully but next time try not to lower yourself to a bully's low standard and remember there are nicer ways to solve conflicts. To all ocean using bullies and jerks alike out there, the kids are growing up and you guys need replacing. Try and think about your actions before you swing a fist. The ocean is to be enjoyed by all and all who use it do so in their spare time so lets keep it enjoyable. If nothing else, you've been warned!
Our boxers please kiss and make up. I find that usually a beer and some nice words will help to calm all stormy waters between you. If you dont like beer then pizza.
till next time see you all in the line up!
