Surf Lesson's In Barbados

Just a quick mention of the surf lesson's that have been going on lately. The weekend, just passed, there was a couple of young ladies out. The first a Canadian named Poppy who really got a good grasp of surfing very quickly. She was up on her feet and riding waves on her first attempt having never surfed before. It made a great Saturday morning. The water or line up at Freights's Bay was empty and we managed to get some really good pictures of Poppy surfing those wave's. Come the afternoon the next young lady in the water was another Canadian by the name of Annie. Annie found us on the internent long before she was due to visit the island, or at least that is what she told me. Annie had a challenge on her hand in the afternoon session due to the fact that the waves had gotten much larger than they were in the morning. Annie was keen to give it a go and so into the water. Annie managed not only to nail surfing and put in some turns but did all of this is some damn fine sized wave's (for longboarders). That was Saturday. Sunday I found two super trooper's from the U.K. ready to surf in the lovely warm waters of Barbados. The swell had now really picked up and the smallest safe wave's the island could provide was again at Freight's Bay, above Oistin's in Christ Church. The two young ladies bit the bullet and launched into the water after their beach briefing. Despite the conditions the girl's did fantastic. Surf lesson's are without a doubt the best way to have a fun, enjoyable and safe introduction to the sport. You can quickly master the basic's without the frustration of trying on your own. I enjoy teaching them, as do all of our instructor's, and so do the folks who come out with us. Hopefully there will be some new faces in the line up so all you regulars be nice and I shall see you there!
