Surfer of the year event 3, surf contest, is to be held at Brandons or the Drill Hall on the South coast. This apparently is not to everyones taste since some believe it to give an unfair advantage to goofy footers. I thought that surf contest were to be held in the best conditions possible and that competitors just had to deal with that and surf their best. If you really are the best surfer of the year then you can deal with locations and conditions and still come out on top. i do not mind another contest at Brandons and I am no goofy footer it is just not far to drive so it suits me well. may we should move the contest to the wind blown east coast and cancel the kids event and have an open only maybe that would suit. I think it;s going to be a good day and watch the longboading if the conditions allow it may be interesting.
