I found this on the web and thought it was great.
The New York Surf Film Fest starts tomorrow, and the line-up is looking to be ultra-dope.
These gatherings and screenings have really grown over the past few years in the surf world, and Tribeca is a mecca of film fests. But this is the first Surf Film Fest ever in the borough of Manhattan, and its coming on harder than a Big Daddy Kane on a Public Enemy track.
Leave it to this cultural hotbed to bring out such strong titles, from bare bones documentaries about forgotten corners of the planet, to inspiring biographies, to massive global undertakings that highlight the state of surfing today. There are 26 films over three days, Q&A's, panels, meet and greets, and a surf art gallery.
