Today's surf lesson was an early start, meeting Merrick at the hotel for 9 o'clock. 9 o'clock here in the caribbena is early. Merrick has been surfing with us for a while now and is just about off on his own but likes to have someone around him just to encourage him to pick certain waves but he can do all of the wave catching on his own, and his wave riding and the moves he has on boards 9' and 10' long are great he is truning and surfing well. Merrick started surfing with me on Thursday last week and had told me that he can just about make it happen from what he remembers the last time he surfed but he wanted to learn how to turn more profiency. Merrick has some wind surfing experience from years ago and so didn't mind being treated like a beginner and having everything explained to him from the beginning. So, a couple of days later and after 3 visits to us with an instructor Merrick has gone from being puhed into waves to picking and catching them on his own and making turns that count so that he can keep moving along the face of the unbroken wave. Merrick is no exception anyone can accomplish what he has. Merrick's enthusiasm has brought him along quickly and now he is a solid surfer in my eyes he looks as good as anyone else who might have been surfing for a year or more without the help of good instruction. Merrick thanks for coming out to play with us your great. See you out there in the line up!
