Things are really looking good at the moment. The surf school is really busy and the shop too. A new delivery of surfboards arrived yesterday so they are all being unpacked right now. The beach shop is coming to life now and with a new coat of paint it looks as though it is supposed to be alive. Amaryllis hotel is where the beach shop is located, on the south coast, and from there is where most of our surf lessons are conducted over summer. The stand up paddle boards are at the beach shop too and with the lagoon in front of the hotel its easy to learn the basics before moving out into the surf. Barbados is a great place to come to surf. The warm water and sandy beaches make it easy and enjoyable for beginners and seasoned surfers to catch perfect waves all day long. with the Amaryllis hotel providing accommodation we are seeing people from as far away as Estonia come to visit us to learn how to surf. I met some folks the other day who had some surfing experience but wanted a lesson to bring them back up to speed. the first thing they said was how lovely the conditions were and how much easier it was to surf in Barbados compared to Europe due to the cold. In England they said even with a wet suit they do an hour a day tops and no more. Barbados has surf break to suit all abilities something not many other countries can offer and with semi-diurnal tides, conditions are perfect twice daily. The only place on earth that can compete with Barbados variety of surf for all ages and abilities is Noosa Austrailia and then it doesn't have an answer for an advanced break like Soup Bowl being a 20min drive away. Come to Barbados and see me in the line up!
