Sounds crazy,dont worry its just another name for the latest in board shorts from Oneill ,well i shouldnt say just if you are realy into surfing and you want the very best from yourself and your equipment the board short has emerged as being as important as your board sounds silly,read on 8 years ago O neill started to look at the board short and how to make it better how to improve on a piece of equipment that until then been by passed.they first addressed the horrible velcro fly that gave you a nasty little rash in a very tender locatoin and used a lycra insert fold over .brilliant it allowed me to be in the water a lot longer without rashing.as the shorts became longer and worn lower they often felt as though they were draging you back down to the board.ive seen both Corey Lopez and a few others cut the knees out of their board shorts.Oneill addressed the matter light weight wetsuit material inserts across the back and down the leg.worked well draw back weight.that brought us up to 2006.Then came the first real break through the full stretch lycra surf shorts the super freek i still own a pair of yellow and black pair the black strip is light weight wetsuit material i thought they were the ultimate i would have longer sessions and feel lighter on my feet.My brother bought a pair he dosent surf that much and he said they were to heavy when wet and took a long time to dry out he mainly fishes. he did however like the way they stretched and the new tie up system i nearly forgot about that it came shortly after the velcro fly, very possitave strait pull around the waist band weird crossover system ive found it very hard to re tie if taken all the way out but works well .definate improvement comes with instructions how to re tie but these are of no use to a 6 yr old or 8yr old so im now an expert superfreak draw string re tier.To the matter at hand ive aquired a pair of Jordie 2010 superfreaks the matrerial is 75% lighter stretches in all directions a the waist band no longer stretches when wet at all.the leg lenth is just on the knee perfected i think so .its like surfing bare assed i mean realy you dont feel like you are wearing anything.I tried some of my other shorts just to see if i was over the top but its true Oneill has redesigned the board short with new fabrics and novel ideas the superfreak board short has evolved.Its as important as your next board to get hold of a pair.Draw backs ?too early to tell after 3 months of hard use all seems wellRussell
